Berea House of Prayer is a small traditional Christian church with a first-century feel. Although we actually gather in a dedicated church building located right behind our home, the church is located directly on the family farm.
While the idea of a "house church" may feel unfamiliar in our current, mega-church culture, the home church model is actually how the Christian church began! In the New Testament, meeting in homes was the standard, normal way for believers to gather, encourage one another, and grow.
Paul's Ministry: The Book of Acts tells us that Paul openly taught both publicly and from "house to house" (Acts 20:20).
The Early Congregations: Scriptural greetings were regularly sent to specific churches meeting in private homes, including the church at Aquila and Priscilla's house (Romans 16:5, 1 Corinthians 16:19), the church at Nympha’s house (Colossians 4:15), and the church meeting in the home of Philemon (Philemon 1:2).
Gathering in a home environment is completely Biblical, completely normal, and offers a level of genuine fellowship that is hard to find anywhere else. You should come try it!
In a world where cultural trends and personal opinions are constantly shifting, we believe the church must remain anchored. Our priority isn't to be trendy or to tell people what they want to hear; it is to remain fiercely loyal to the timeless truth of God's Word.
We love our community, and we believe the greatest way to show true love is to stand firmly on Biblical truth, regardless of changing cultural tides. At Berea House of Prayer, the Bible is our final authority—period.
Whether you've walked with Christ for decades or you're just starting to ask questions, there is a place for you on the path with us. We would love to have you visit.
